

Pacific Theatres and the Nederlander Organization reinvented the venue as a Broadway-style performing arts venue and reopened it in February of that year with a production of Bubbling Brown Sugar. While it was originally intended to show moving pictures and vaudeville when it opened in 1930, it acted primarily as a movie theater until 1977, when it closed.
